![]() ![]() So all in all, Utopia to me is about how the human race is killing itself with greed, and they're pretending they're not. "You're taking the road all alone in the end." is saying that being evil and taking what is not yours is going to make you very lonely in the long run, because no one will like it. "I'm searching for answers, not given for free." may be asking why people are hurt, but its not an easy answer. "So where I am going, you won't be in the end." I believe means that she is going to find true pleasure, but a person who has a material goal will only have a material pleasure, a temporary pleasure. "You're holding my hand but you don't understand." may mean that people are living in partnership with others, but only some can truely understand how to be good. The first verse then is talking about how she has her own aspirations that will take her to a more down-to-earth and wholesome reward. But those of us who see the corruption ask, "If this world is perfect, then why does sorrow rain on Utopia?" Hence the line "Why does it rain, rain, rain, rain on Utopia." The human race has created their "perfect world". "Utopia" references how people try to blind themselves to the horrors of the dying world. Everything is about "Me", and not about "We" in this day and age. This song is about how the human race is beginning to dwindle.
